Possible Hammer Family Relatives

We have been getting a tremendous amount of questions for people asking if we could possibly be related to their Hammer family.  I am going to put their email messages here, where they will remain til asked to be removed.  If you aren't related to my side of the Hammer family - from Norway, perhaps you are related to one of them.

Dear relatives.    I was looking for my ancestor Søren Kræmer, and by accident I found the family of my grandmother, Magda Kræmer born Hammer and married to Waldemar Kræmer.
Her daughter, Else Dagny Kræmer (1916 - 1993), married my father, Ernst Gustav Suadicani (1912 -1995), and settled down in Denmark.
They had two children: My brother, Rolf Suadicani (1942 - 1972) and me, Berit Suadicani (1937 -   ).
Many years ago I visited Tromsø, which has certainly changed a lot. I know that my mother gave some beautiful copper utensils from my grand-grandfather's ship to the Arctic Museum of Tromsø.

Yours sincerely,
Berit Suadicani

My Hammer line is a complete dead-end, with no leads. My 3rd great-grandfather is Daniel HAMMER (no dates/places/parents/siblings). He married Mary (SHEPHERD) LITTLER (about 1807 ?). Their daughter Martha Jane HAMMER (1846-1898) is my 2nd great-grandmother. She married Robert Emmett BARRICKMAN (1843-1921). I have been posting messages for these lines since 1999, and still have no leads. I would greatly appreciate any information and assistance/contacts. Thanks. Looking forward to hearing from you.

My great grandfather, Philip William Hammer, was born in  or near Bergen sometime around 1840 or 1850.  He went to Germany as a young man, where he became a watchmaker.  From there he emigrated to the U.S., going to Osakis, MN.  He married Mathilda (McFadden?) Krueger; they had several children, among them my grandfather, Henry George.  Later they moved to New Rockford, ND.  In 1899 they were considering relocating in California, and while on his first trip there he was killed in a tragic train accident near Yuba City on March 3, 1899.  I do not know his parents' names, but do have some earlier genealogy records which suggest they were possibly named Ole Elias Hammer, b1608 and Anne Rebekka Angell Nicolle, born 1813.  They were married May 31, 1833.  According to the references I have they lived in Jolster, Bergen, and Farsund. Evidently, an ancestor went from Denmark to Sweden, and from there his descendants moved to Jolster. There may or may not be a connection, but it would be interesting to know.  My name is Ethel (Pankowski) Hegstad

Looking for Hammer family - I was born Mary Ellen Hammer January 1955, in NYC, NY.  Birthmom was believed to be from "out- of state" and went by the name of Kathleen Hammer. Would be happy to receive any information regarding my birth, placement or biological family.  Please e-mail at JASH4DOGZ@AOL.COM Thank you, DK

Patrick B. Hammer Subject: Hammer Family
Hi, My name is Patrick Hammer and I thought I might fling a name your way to see if it may fit somewhere. My grandfather Harold Hammer married Madeline (I don't know her maiden name) in New York city in the early thirties he should be in his 80's by now. I don't have much info on him due to his divorce of Madeline (my grandmother) when my father, Robert Harold Hammer was very young. He and Madeline had two children Robert Harold and Mary Ann.   Maybe there is a link, maybe not. I just thought it was pretty neat to find a whole 'nuther family out there with the "Hammer" name.   Take care, Pat Hammer
